Designing for Disasters

GRADE 3 STEAM

While usually not preventable, natural disasters are a phenomenon that human populations can prepare for. Engineers and architects use elements of art such as line, shape, form, and various media to mitigate damage from natural disasters. In this STEAM lesson, students will consider the alignment of art techniques while designing a home to have various hurricane safe features.
