SPRINT 4, LESSON 1
Embracing Leadership
Video play time: 14:02
Leadership isn’t just about a title or a model. It’s intrinsically grounded in who you are and your desire to serve others. This is important – I really want you to hear me on this distinction: great leaders focus on being of service first rather than taking control. In our first lesson of this sprint, we’re going to explore how to embrace leadership as a role and as a quality. Here’s what we’ll cover:
• How to view yourself as a leader and develop a leadership philosophy
• Investigating the phases of change
• How and why developing a powerful story matters

Thank you Susan for the prologue to SPRINT 4 of the Arts Integration Specialist Program. I’m looking forward to the final stage of the course. As I prepare to write my leadership profile I plan to look back at some of the notes I have from ME.d. program in Curriculum & Instruction/ESL Specialization and the required Personal Educational Philosophy statement, with reflections on my experiences in the arts from my teen years to present. It has really come full circle with this program. I’m sure that what I’ve learned over the past several months with Educloset and its astute coaches, as well as, with my fellow cohort of Arts Integration Specialist teams will prepare tp lead others in this unique pedagogy.
