SPRINT 4, LESSON 2
The Coach, Facilitator and Mentor
Video play time: 14:33
In this lesson, we’re exploring the many different hats you’re going to wear as an arts integration specialist. This role is a bit like the old cartoon Gumby – it requires you to be flexible and to shift into many new forms on a regular basis.
There are three main hats you’ll wear in this position: the coach, the facilitator and the mentor. Today, we’re going to explore each of these and how you can have success in all three. Here’s what we’ll cover:
• Exploring the difference between a coach, facilitator and mentor, as well as when to step into each role.
• Learning how to coach teachers effectively.
• Understanding the specific tasks of an arts integration specialist.
