This session will focus on the connection between literacy and music, giving instruction on how to have students close read and analyze text through song and lyrics. This strategy has proven successful in all grade levels, and is often most beneficial with struggling students, getting them to higher-level thinking and drawing conclusions. Music is the universal language, and connecting it with literacy is a natural fit.
