In this session, participants are introduced to a collection of free materials, activities, and lesson plans that use contemporary popular music to develop Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in the classroom. Through these materials, classrooms of all levels are able to engage with the music of Beyonce, Tori Kelly, Alessia Cara, and The Black Eyed Peas to collectively discuss issues of personal identity, peer pressure, good citizenship, and media literacy. No prior musical experience necessary!
